September 14, 2020 — The firm is advising global information technology leader Infosys in its pending acquisition of product design and development company Kaleidoscope Innovation, which specializes in the medical, consumer and industrial markets.

Infosys announced the acquisition on Sept. 3. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the second quarter of Infosys’ fiscal year 2021, were not disclosed.

“This acquisition further strengthens our digital offerings at the intersection of new software technologies and medical devices – a sector that is expected to witness significant investments and consumerization in the post-COVID era,” said Ravi Kumar, president of Infosys.

Kaleidoscope designs microsurgical instruments used in minimally invasive surgery, drug delivery devices for ophthalmic therapies and user-centric wearables. It also provides usability testing for regulatory submissions, including the delivery mechanism for aortic stents.

Established in 1981 and headquartered in Bangalore, India, Infosys employs approximately 240,000 people across 46 countries. HHR previously represented Infosys in its first acquisition of 2020: a deal in March to acquire Simplus, one of the fastest growing Salesforce implementation service providers in the U.S. and Australia.

Michael Traube and Alexander Rahn lead the HHR team, which also includes Ken Lefkowitz, Rita Haeusler, Erin DeCecchis, Jim Delaney, Carol Remy, Giorgia Nagalli, Dena Smith, Justin Cohen, Andrew Herman, Lynn Russo and Barbara Champoux.
