April 1, 2025 – Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP announced today that Francis McCabe has joined as a partner in the firm’s Project Finance practice and will be based in the firm’s Washington, DC, office.

McCabe joins Hughes Hubbard from a global Am Law 100 firm where he represented project sponsors, lenders, government agencies and other project participants in domestic and cross-border project financing transactions, particularly in Latin America. He has extensive experience advising new entrants into the energy and infrastructure sectors, particularly sponsors and developers conducting their first financings.

McCabe’s practice covers the full spectrum of transactions, including tax equity and debt financings; portfolio facilities; and equity investments, in addition to advising domestic and foreign companies on asset sales, joint ventures and carve-outs. He has advised clients on deals involving renewables, biomass, renewable natural gas, mining, LNG, thermal power and hydrogen.

McCabe earned his law degree from the George Washington University Law School and his undergraduate degree in international studies from the Virginia Military Institute. Prior to attending law school, McCabe was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He is admitted to practice law in both the District of Columbia and New York.
