Hughes Hubbard achieved a favorable outcome for pro bono clients who were being sued by their landlord for breach of a stipulation of settlement of an administrative proceeding against the landlord.

Since August, HHR has worked with legal aid attorneys in representing two low-income immigrant tenants in Brooklyn. A new stipulation of settlement executed in New York state court on April 26 provides the clients significant financial compensation and additional time to remain in their existing apartments rent-free while they search for new homes. As part of the agreement, the landlord withdrew all claims it brought against the clients. Terms of the settlement are confidential.

Steven G. Perelman and HHR alum John Dunn worked on this matter with supervision from Tom Lee and Ted Mayer.
