Wilson (Yifan) Wang is an associate in Hughes Hubbard’s New York office in the Litigation department. Wilson focuses on representing clients in transnational and complex commercial litigation and arbitration, often involving bet-the-company disputes under AAA, HKIAC, and CIETAC rules. He also focuses on investigations in response to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory enquiries. He has worked with major Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and other clients on their sanctions and compliance matters relating to multilateral development banks (MDBs) including the World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard, Wilson worked as China Associate in the Shanghai office of a leading international law firm, handling matters in the areas of international arbitration, anti-corruption compliance and investigations, and cross-border transactions for Chinese and multinational companies. Before that, Wilson also interned with JunHe LLP in Shanghai and a local court in Zhejiang Province, China.

Represented a leading U.S. private equity fund in parallel HKIAC and CIETAC proceedings in disputes arising from real estate joint ventures in Mainland China, and secured a final award in excess of US$200 million*
Representing a leading Taiwanese manufacturer in an AAA arbitration arising from a contract dispute
Representing a leading Chinese manufacturing SOE to deal with the sanction by the Asian Development Bank and to draft integrity compliance program with the MDB standards
Represented an extra-large Chinese SOE group and its over 1,000 subsidiaries to deal with the sanction by the World Bank Group, coordinated with independent compliance monitor and independent investigator to conduct site visits and investigations, assisted to draft application for release, and eventually obtained complete release from sanction on time
Represented several Chinese SOEs and their subsidiaries in connection with sanctions by the World Bank Group and Asian Development Bank, coordinating with integrity compliance expert to conduct site visit, and assisting to draft applications for release from sanction
Assisted a leading Chinese manufacturing SOE to respond to the enquiries from the World Bank Group
Advised a leading Chinese construction SOE to evaluate its integrity compliance program, and issued legal opinion on its current compliance rules compared with the MDB standards
