Prior to Tom’s retirement, he was a partner in Hughes Hubbard’s New York office and a former head of the firm’s corporate department. He was particularly active in the aviation sector, having represented Texas Air Corporation, Continental Airlines, Eastern Airlines, Northwest Airlines and People Express in a wide range of transactions. These included acquisition and dispositions of businesses, partial public divestitures of subsidiaries, registered public offerings of debt and equity securities, private placements of debt securities, going private transactions, debt restructuring transactions, and corporate control transactions and corporate governance matters. Tom was a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Law Firms and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York’s Committee on Corporation Law. He was also Director and Secretary of Ballet Hispanico of New York.
