Tiauna Mathieu is an associate in Hughes Hubbard’s litigation department and serves as Co-chair of the Firm’s Black Attorney Affinity Group. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Law Clerk to the Honorable Todd E. Edelman of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Tiauna has experience drafting federal appellate briefs, taking and defending depositions, and arguing pretrial motions in federal court.
While in law school, Tiauna participated in the Georgetown Criminal Justice Clinic, where she represented indigent defendants in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and in parole revocation hearings before the United States Parole Commission. Upon completing the Clinic, she received the Alan J. Goldstein Memorial Award, which is presented to the Clinic participant who best demonstrates the use of intelligence, creativity, and resourcefulness in defending criminal clients and a dedication to criminal law, fair play, and justice.
