Shawn Wang is an International Specialist in Hughes Hubbard & Reed’s New York office, and a member of the firm’s Litigation department. Shawn has advised or represented clients in investment treaty and commercial arbitration proceedings across multiple jurisdictions under ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules. He also focuses in the areas of investigations and compliance, assisting clients in response to the investigations, audit and sanctions by multilateral development banks including the World Bank Group and Asian Development Bank. He contributed to the UNODC business integrity handbook for Belt & Road investment projects.
Shawn has experience in advising sovereign States, State-owned entities and intergovernmental organizations on public international law matters including the law of the sea, international environmental law, human rights law, and the ICJ advisory proceedings.
Prior to joining the firm, Shawn worked at a major Chinese law firm in Beijing and an international law firm’s arbitration team in London.
